Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), a leading early-stage angel investing platform, has announced a new initiative to help investors obtain Angel Investor accreditation free of cost, in compliance with SEBI guidelines. The platform aims to make the accreditation process smooth and efficient for its members.
Under the SEBI framework, investors intending to participate in startup investments must now be accredited by a SEBI-recognised agency, such as NSDL or CVL. The regulator has set a deadline of 7th September for completing the accreditation, making it essential for investors to act promptly. Once accredited, investors receive an Angel Investor Accreditation Certificate, valid for two or three years, depending on their preference.
CVL, one of the prominent accreditation agencies, currently has fewer than 1,500 accredited investors. The new SEBI requirements are expected to further reduce the pool of eligible investors. IPV’s initiative seeks to bridge this gap, ensuring investors can navigate the accreditation process smoothly and maintain continuity in early-stage investment activities.
To support investors, IPV offers comprehensive assistance throughout the process, including eligibility evaluation, document verification, application submission, and coordination with SEBI-recognised agencies. Individuals who become IPV members are guided through the entire accreditation process at no extra cost, provided they meet regulatory requirements.
