Sridhar Vembu Dismisses Political Entry Rumors, Focuses on R&D

Zoho Corporation founder Sridhar Vembu has refuted speculation about his potential entry into politics, calling the rumors unfounded and even amusing. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Vembu stated he “burst out laughing” when he first heard the claims and emphasized that he has had “ZERO discussions with anyone” about political aspirations.

Currently, Vembu is deeply engaged in his new role as Chief Scientist at Zoho, focusing on cutting-edge research and development in deep technology. He highlighted his ongoing preparations to present Zoho’s artificial intelligence research and development strategy to industry analysts in Austin, Texas, next week. Given the demanding nature of his responsibilities, he reiterated that there is “just no way, NO WAY” he could consider a foray into politics.

The well-known tech entrepreneur, who recently stepped down as Zoho’s CEO, has chosen to dedicate his efforts to advanced R&D initiatives and his personal rural development mission.

With Vembu stepping aside as CEO, Zoho’s leadership is undergoing a shift. Co-founder Shailesh Kumar Davey has been appointed as the new Group CEO. Additionally, Tony Thomas, another co-founder, will head Zoho’s U.S. division, Rajesh Ganesan will take charge of ManageEngine, and Mani Vembu will oversee Zoho.com.
